Grab a friend and head out on the water for this 2 hour Discover Kayaking for Two in the Cairngorms National Park.
Offering the perfect place for beginners or occasional paddlers, kayaking sessions at Craggan Outdoors Activities take place in a purpose-dug pond, with still, shallow waters presenting a safe environment in which you can learn. Experienced instructors will give you a briefing, before you’re kitted out with all the necessities.
You’ll then head out into the water to get to grips with paddle skills and balance, helped with fun team games. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll get to enjoy an exciting finale with a slide down the seal launch.

What happens on the day?
On arrival, you’ll kick things off with a meet and greet in the Clubhouse, before your instructor gives you a briefing on the day’s session.
You’ll then be kitted out in your kayaking necessities – buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle – to head out on the water. Once you’re in your kayak, you’ll get to grips with the basics, before putting your skills to the test with team games. At the end of your 2 hour session, you can finish things off with a slide down the seal launch.

- Minimum age: 8 Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult

Availability
The experience is available 10.00 to 18.00, seven days a week. Some exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 2 hours 30 minutes for the full experience (including briefings)
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Brilliant morning for all the family
Absolutely fantastic experience! We were grouped with another couple which made 6 of us in all. The larger group meant that the games were much more fun. Enthusiastic and fun instructors that even got my 9 yr old son to go down a massive kayak slide into the water despite it being his first time. They use a small lake and the water is cold. The two hours were up in a flash. Lovely warm changing rooms and a flask of hot juice was waiting. I would thoroughly recommend Craggan for any activity

Fantastic Family day out!
We had two vouchers, so four of us had a go and I recommend this experience to everyone. Two of us had some experience of kayaking and the other two no experience at all - we had a fantastic instructor, who’s aim was to get everyone wet. The instructor was polite and full of humour, taking our health, safety and medical conditions into consideration . Wonderful day - have a go - worst case senario you get wet.
