Introduction to Pottery for Two at Eastnor Pottery
Overview
Tap into your creative side and relax in the idyllic surroundings of the Herefordshire countryside with this Introduction to Pottery for Two at Eastnor Pottery.
Surrounded by rural tranquillity, you’ll have the chance to discover a hidden talent, find your newest hobby, or simply foster some creativity, as well as reaping the therapeutic benefits of working with clay. The two of you will be designated a potter’s wheel to share, with a professional potter at hand to coach you through the process. You’ll each have the opportunity to make two pots, before choosing your favourite to be fired and glazed.
Your ceramic masterpieces will then be dried, fired and glazed, available to collect from the Studio approximately a month after your session. Delivery can also be arranged at an additional cost.

What happens on the day?
For the time being, class sizes will be kept to a minimum of x4 participants per instructor. There's ample studio space, allowing participants to social distance accordingly.
On arrival you'll be offered a warm (socially distanced!) welcome from either Jon or his wife and fellow maker Sarah. Following an easy to follow, five step potter's wheel demonstration, you'll each take a turn to throw one or two pots on the wheel. Needless to say, the activity makes for a fab spectator sport so you'll have great fun watching each other wrestling the spinning mud!
Your professional potter will be with you, at a safe distance for the whole of your experience, gently guiding you through the five easy steps to success. The whole experience lasts 1.5 hrs and if you are fortunate enough to have produced two pots, you'll be asked to choose your favourite to be fired and glazed. (If you cant decide, the extra pot can be purchased at half price.)
You won't be able to take your creation away on the day, it will need to dry thoroughly before it goes in the kiln. Your pot will be fired twice, glazed and available for collection from the Pottery approx. 4-6 weeks later. P+P can be arranged at £5 per pot (UK).

Wonderful throw a pot session!
We had a fantastic time at Eastnor Pottery, tuition was so patient and encouraging and we really enjoyed seeing the results. Felt safe from a Covid perspective. Can't wait to see our finished glazed pots (extra charge for this)!

Next stop, the Great Pottery Throwdown!
A fabulous 2 hours at Eastnor Pottery with a great host/tutor. We were put at ease and guided through using the wheel and making our pots- with a few re-runs along the way. A fun activity which has led to us exploring other courses locally.

Really excellent- would recommend
A lovely day out with my friend. We always wanted to have a go at pottery after watching The Great Pottery Throw down on tv. We had a very patient instructor and managed to throw two lovely pots . Beautiful location and lunch in Ledbury after. Would highly recommend if anyone wants to buy someone a special gift. My friend loved it as her birthday gift.

Great morning out!
My daughter had bought me this experience for Mother's Day which was lovely. Booking was easy and we had a fantastic morning in the "Potting Tent" being shown how to do it first and then having a go ourselves. Sarah the lady who was showing us how it's done was amazing and really friendly. I would definitely recommend this experience and would go again.

Fantastic tuition in a lovely setting
Sarah's tuition was extremely thorough and patient. We felt encouraged and supported throughout. Despite the session we'd booked being pretty short we didn't feel rushed and the whole experience was chilled, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. The venue was lovely (marquee because of Covid) and Sarah and John have thought of everything to provide a great experience despite the restrictions of social distancing etc. Will be back for further tuition!

So much fun!
I absolutely loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone, young or old. I've never done anything like this before and wouldn't consider myself the 'arty' type, but Jon talked us through the process in incredible detail and gave wonderful demonstrations on how to throw pottery. We were supported throughout and I have come away with 2 really lovely little pots/vases.

Fabulous Afternoon
My Sister & I shared a wonderful afternoon creating at this fabulous pottery studio! We laughed so much but worked hard trying to learn a new skill under the watchful eye of an experienced potter! It was much more difficult than we expected, but a great afternoon out and amazingly we crafted a pretty pot each! We so enjoyed our time together and were thrilled with our creations! We thoroughly recommend this experience!

Great fun!
The Introduction to Pottery was great fun! Friendly staff loved the potter's wheel (I want one)! Painting the pot after was using skills I haven't used in years. We are now looking forward to collecting our pots once they have been fired.

Wonderful experience - totally recommend it!
Had a really great time at Eastnor pottery. All the team (big thanks especially to Aimee!) were very friendly and made us feel very relaxed. Their attention to detail was excellent and we were given one-to-one attention and help which gave us the confidence to actually produce two very presentable pots. Highly recommended if you have ever fancied throwing a pot or two!

Pottery
Greeted by Sarah and John and made to feel so very welcome. Firstly, with a lovely cup of tea and then a mooch around their gallery with lots of wonderful pieces of pottery. We were treated to one-one tuition and as a result made a lovely pot to paint and keep. Highly recommended to all ages!
