A thoroughly enjoyable morning at Oldfield Forge
My partner and I went for the blacksmithing and cider tasting experience. The blacksmiths at the forge are very friendly and maintain and relaxed and fun atmosphere. Following a quick safety briefing, we were shown how to make the bottle opener in a step-by-step process. You get plenty of time at the hearth forging away, and despite it being a busy Saturday we had one-to-one help / intervention whenever needed. We had a great time and would certainly go again for a longer experience day!

Blacksmith and Cider Tour
Great Experience !! Being able to make something in a traditional forge was a fantastic and rare opportunity. The instructors explained and guided you were needed but after they had demostrated the safety and process of working the metal they let you get on with the object you wish to make. They encouraged you to improve on areas and the end result was very satisfying!! Couldn't recommend highly enough! The Cider Tour was brilliant with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. !! A must do

GREAT EXPERIENCE - WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND
ALL THE STAFF WERE MORE THAN HELPFUL, AND MADE SURE WE HAD A FABULOUS MORNING MAKING THINGS WE NEVER DREAMED WE WERE CAPABLE OF DOING! BE PREPARED FOR A HOT ENVIRONMENT THOUGH, AND TAKE A WATER BOTTLE IN THE SUMMER...AND YOU NEED TO BE PHYSICALLY STRONG AND FIT TO ACHIEVE THE BEST RESULTS.

Great experience
Purchased this for my husbands birthday and I did this with him. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend anyone to give it a go. Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere and all the people there were really passionate about their job. We were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely go again to make something else.

Making our own trowel.
We started with a metal bar and spent 3 hours heating and hitting it. Good fun, and now there is a trowel-like thing which does actually dig holes. Nice guys helping and answering questions throughout. The beer/cider tour and tasting part never happened; we don't know why. Nobody ever mentioned it.

not the greatest day of my life so far
The staff on the actual day were very helpful and nice. No coffee or tea on arrival. Perhaps a sign at the end of the road would have been helpful. I felt that the communication was not good. I felt it was down to me to chase and action. The leaflet was a little ambiguous actually what was on offer the way i read it sounded like cider tour only. Some of the tone in the e mails i got were not overly customer focused. Direct contact with Virgin was OK.
