Manchester Chocolate Experience
What a lovely few hours. Johnathan was very nice, bubbly and a great tutor. Myself (Jill) and my cousin Lorraine both bake cakes and I thought it would be a little taster for us to learn a new skill. It was a gift to me from my husband so I used 2 vouchers to take Lorraine with me. I really want to do a chocolate course now GREAT DAY

A birthday gift for my 16 year old niece but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience too primarily due to our host, Jon. You also come home with a goody bag of the chocolates you made.

Chocolate heaven
My daughter bought me a chocolate making experience for my birthday. Went along with mixed feelings, but what a lovely way to spend a couple of hours! A lovely young lady explained the origins of chocolate and then we were let loose on melted chocolate, decorations etc. I have not been so messy for years! And I could take home what I had made to share with my family. Would recommend this to all ages, both men and women.

Chocolate heaven what a delight!
Even with social distancing, the experience was very good. Our teacher for the day was called John who was very funny and professional at his job. I enjoyed this a lot especially when we got to do our own chocolates with 80s music playing in the background to motivate us. Nice. Thank you for a great day.

Lovely morning out!
People were lovely and very helpful/knowledgable and we came away with a lot of dark chocolate truffles which we decorated, as well as a large chocolate button. Delicious! The venue had a nice location by the canal but was a 20 min walk from the nearest tube station, and no Uber's available for a while (possibly due to the area!) so just prepare for this if going to the location in London. Maybe felt it was too rushed.. good info given about chocolate, but not much time to decorate!

Good afternoon
I went here for a friends birthday and it was a nice afternoon. The host was lovely and very informative and easy to learn from. Only down side would be that I wish there was more chocolate to make, as (apart from the big chocolate button) the portions were very small - especially when hoping to bring enough home for others to try. I also wish there was separate decorating for each group - as by the time the chocolate decor got to me there was none left. All over good experience though.

Fun experience
This experience was very good fun. I learned quite a lot about chocolate from the energetic and enthusiastic host and her assistant. I also learned some good techniques, and have some ideas which I hope to try out in the near future. My only wishes would be to have a little more chocolate to take away at the end (maybe I'm just greedy!), and perhaps a third, slightly more challenging task, although that would definitely require a longer session as the two hours were very busy ones and flew by

Perfect for the chocolate lover
A really enjoyable couple of hours - brief introduction to the history and processing, then making and decorating a giant chocolate button, ganache and truffles. Great fun rather like the "Generation Game" and good for going as a group activity. Would have liked longer to do the preparatory tempering.

Wouldn't do this for one!! But was great for 2 or more!!
I was given this as a gift, but bought another for a friend, to give me company - so glad I did, as it's no one seemed to come alone, and I don't think it would have been so fun! Not sure it's worth the cost of two of these, though! We had a large, friendly group of chocolate lovers, everyone smiling and enjoying what we were told about chocolate and its making, as well as all the bits we tried. Making the various chocolate products was super fun, and you get quite abit to take home. My friend and I really enjoyed it!

Fun experience badly organised
We were advised of a change of venue a few days before. On the day we were put in a room & told to wait. 15 mins after the start time we were told the equipment hadn’t been set up, 2 teachers had cancelled in the last 24 hours & they were an hour behind. When we got started it was fun &We got unlimited chocolate to make up for delay. We missed out on some parts as they had to make time up and it felt a little rushed. Our stand-in teacher was fab! We were offered to go to another day for FREE.

Fun but low skill
I was expecting this to be more to do with making the actual chocolate but it was just making things with it. That said, it was fun, we were encouraged to ice-break and to work together so I ended up chatting with some nice people. Would have liked more chocolate to take home though!

Really good workshop, luckily we found the right location.
I recently attended the chocolate workshop, which was really good, the chocolatier Jessica was really enthusiastic and helpful, we learned all about chocolate and best of all we got to eat lots of chocolate!! Only downside was we booked the experience through the Virgin website, and were given the location of a hotel, we turned up and were told by the hotel that the chocolate workshop hadn't been held there for nearly a year, and it definitely wasn't been held there today. Luckily just as we were about to leave disappointed one of the other hotel staff mentioned she thought it was being held at the local Hilton, so we rushed down there not wanting to be late, and luckily made it just in time. Not a brilliant start to the experience, but overall the chocolate workshop was brilliant, and I would highly recommend it.

uninspiring, disappointing and a waste of time
''original' workshop in Manchester - very disappointed :( original in the fact it taught you nothing new! felt techniques were pitched at pre-school level - basically covering melted chocolate with sprinkles and rolling a few truffles. spent more time on the packaging! session also ended early, made to feel we'd overstayed and were hurried along, host obviously had somewhere else to be and beat us out of the hotel! waste of time (and money) do not waste your time and money -
