The Spitfire Simulator is a fantastic experience - from the start learning to fly the aircraft down the Thames to taking on Heinkel’s and Dorniers over the channel, this experience does not disappoint!! Amanda guided me patiently through the experience in very friendly way - overall I would highly recommend this as a great day out!!

What a day
Brilliant experience, Amanda was lovely and chatty, and the guided tour after my flight was a lovely touch. The 20% offer for a rebook is going to used as soon as can afford it, and im hoping to get me Mrs to join in so we can dogfight in the Spitfire and Mescherscmitt .

Battle of Britain
Contrary to the description there was no take off or landing of the Spitfire although all other aspects were spot on. Maybe if the 'flight time' had lasted 60 minutes instead of 50 take off and landing could have been achieved. Incidentally this request for feedback was sent the day before my experience!

Great experience!
A very informative and enjoyable experience. Amanda McCarthy(?) was very knowledgeable and patient allowing you to progress at the pace you felt comfortable with. If you are a 'Gamer' you should pick the techniques up much quicker than a non-gamer! You sit in a mock up of a WW11 Spitfire. The only thing I personally found was it was sometimes hard to hear the instructions because of the noise of the 'Merlin' engine behind you. If you are looking for something different this is it!

A lifetime experience
I was great seeing what our wartime pilots did. My father was an engineer looking after the spitfires at Duxford, and did on one occasion fly in a two seater training spitfire and said he had a great experience. I wouldn't have missed it for worlds. Shame about covid, my family were unable to see me enjoying myself!

A really immersive experience
The Flight Sim Centre Spitfire Experience was genuinely good fun. The allocated staff member was patient and encouraging as he took me though the training exercises and the air combat serial. The simulator utilises a mock Spitfire cockpit, VR headset and the DCS engine, providing an immersive experience. The only negative was the control column which felt too small and was positioned too low in the cockpit. The air combat serial could be challenging for people with limited flying experience.

Excellent.....BUT
Fantastic VR flying experience marred by broken simulator. We were supposed to be flying/dog fighting a Spitfire. We were sat in a Spitfire cockpit with awesome VR cockpit detail. It felt and looked real apart from having to use a simple gaming joystick instead of proper Spitfire yoke. This needs to be fixed ASAP because punters are being short changed. This is not a cheap way to spend an hour but thrilling all the same.
