Two night stay Ruthin Castle
I took my wife to Ruthin Castle for a two day break . I wanted somewhere quiet where we could recharge our batteries. I upgraded to a suite , room was very spacious, lovely views and had everything we needed . Bar and lounge area very comfortable and staff very friendly. Restaurant food was excellent and good value for money . Would highly recommend. If you want to eat locally you would need to book as not many restaurants in Ruthin. Will definitely go back

Ruthin Castle
My wife and I have recently returned from a two night break at Ruthin Castle. This was a very enjoyable experience. The castle itself is very impressive and the deluxe room that we had was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was of very good quality with very good choice that included a cooked breakfast and continental. The public areas of the castle could however be cleaner and a simple clean of skirting boards and windows (from dust and cobwebs) are well overdue. Criticism aside 4 stars

Relaxing time
Lovely couple of days, reception staff extremely friendly. Evening meal was amazing, never tasted lamb like it! Ruthin castle itself however was 'tired' and housekeeping could have been a tad better, dust and a couple of cobwebs about the room. Main thing though, the sheets were nice and clean.

Lovely setting and quaint hotel.
Lovely setting and views of rolling hills from our bedroom window. Coordinated tasteful decor but some communal areas a little tired. Staff very pleasant but reported broken iron and no fridge and still not replaced and leaving tomorrow. Last night’s meal in restaurant a disaster and not yet had a resolution even though checking out in the morning.

Beautiful hotel in need of some tlc
We stayed at ruthin castle as part of a virgin experience and the actual castle is beautiful. Yes I appreciate it is and old castle but plaster is hanging off the corridor walls to my room, the stair carpet had worn through and so on. All in all it's a beautiful building in need of some TLC spending on the bits that everyone can see. Staff were first class, the sauna was out of order and the pool has been taken out leaving only a steam room. You could do better for a virgin experience

Not a great experience
The actual castle is nice with a lovely setting, beautiful grounds. However our two night stay was blighted by fire alarms and poor service. The first night, the fire alarm went off at 3am with no explanation as to why. When we arrived, the receptionist wasn't pleasant. We were unable to get a table in the restaurant on sat night until 8:45. Breakfast on the last day was laughable, hardly any one in the restaurant but no plates when we got there and no juice. We had to keep asking for stuff!

We have been to Ruthin castle before and are stay was really enjoyable that is why we went back this was a Xmas present for my husband we were given the key to our room and on opening the door to my horror the wallpaper hanging off the ceiling and walls it was awful I went and told the lady we were not happy with the room she said she would change it for us from a standard room to a deluxe what was definitely not I did pay over two hundred pounds for a two night will not be going back

Very dirty room
Our room we stayed in at Ruthin Castle was very dirty, dusty and rundown our hand towels were taken the next day and not replaced and not even the bathroom sink and mirror had been cleaned and there were blonde hairs found on the dressing table. Although advertising a spa that has been closed since April, for a 4 star hotel it was very disappointing and a real letdown. We have stayed many a time at 3 star hotels and they have all been much much superior to this.
