Overview
Have you ever wanted to see the Snowdonian mountains from the air? Well, now you can with this Motor Glider Flight of the Snowdonian Mountains and Lakes.
After a short introduction to the controls from your BGA qualified instructor, you’ll have the opportunity to fly the aircraft for yourself. Take in breath-taking scenic views as you take off from the Denbigh gliding club, heading west to the main bulk of Snowdonia.
If the weather permits, you’ll soar over the top and have a unique bird’s eye view of the Snowdon peak. Taking a coastal detour to Cadair Idris, soak up stunning views of Barmouth and Porthmadog before heading home via Lake Bala. This promises to be an unforgettable flight.

What happens on the day?
On arrival you’ll meet your BGA qualified instructor, ready for your flight. They’ll show you how the controls of the aircraft work, before giving you the opportunity to fly the aircraft yourself. Along the way, you’ll experience breath-taking scenery including the Snowdon peak, Cadair Idris, Barmouth and Porthmadog.
Participant guidelines
- Under 18’s need parental/guardian consent
- Maximum weight: 16 stone
- Participants should be in reasonable health
- Disabled access is good
- Spectators are welcome to wait at the airfield while you take your flight
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location
Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience before the expiry date.
The experience is available Wednesday to Sunday inclusive. Exclusions will apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow a up to a full day for the full experience as activity is weather dependant
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
