Most Excellent!
We did this experience in Devon starting from Bere Alston Station. Our guide was splendid (I appologise for not remembering her name) Informative, engaged with the group and passionate about the plants and their health benefits. We were out walking around two and a half hours, some of the terrain was quite steep, so good walking shoes are advisable. The lunch was delicious, picnic style, sitting on the ground. Take something to sit on! Excellent day, well worth doing.

Great day foraging
Sophia was very knowledgeable, identifying and explaining what plants were edible in an interesting and informative way. The group of people we were with were all very pleasant and we had a really nice day which was also great fun. We finished with Sophia cooking a lovely mushroom risotto using foraged plants that she picked up on the way around. A lovely day, thank you.

Excellent Day
We had a fabulous day out foraging with Megan in Barns Green. Along with perfect weather, we had all our questions answered and felt we left with a ton of knowledge. I have already and would recommend for anyone to do this, a great day outdoors learning about nature. Plus Megan cooked a fantastic meal in the woods at the end! 5*

Such a unique experience
I wasn't sure what to expect from the foraging course but it was great fun and my partner and I learned so much! Our foraging leader was very knowledgeable and the food we had at the end, made from foraged items was delicious. Even in Covid times where adaptations had to be made, we still got an enriching experience.

Great day foraging
We spent the day with Hazel in the Lea Valley, she was so knowledgeable and give us a great insight into wild plants berries etc. Though lunch wasnt what was planned due to COVID is was nonetheless good. Cheese cake to die for. For a day out with a difference I'd recommend it.

Great day out
Our previous booking having been cancelled due to the pandemic. This was probably beneficial for us as the group size was limited to 12 rather than 20 (which may have been too big) and we were given pre-prepared food rather than having a cook-out. This meant more time being shown items to forage and not having to spend time collecting food for the lunch. This would have been fun but we preferred learning about the items we could collect later. We were out about 5 hours and learned a lot.

A good walk in the woods
We enjoyed our foraging course with Sophia - she was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about foraging and the uses of our native plants. We also enjoyed the lunch that she prepared for us, using some of the plants we had learnt about during the morning. Many thanks, Sophia!

Very enjoyable and informed
We luckily had a lovely Autumn day and Gavin, our guide was very accommodating when we (and a couple of others) we a little late! Gavin was well informed and enthusiastic and managed to find many plants of interest. I will definitely be trying the garlic mustard in my mash! Covid meant we couldn't do cook which was a shame, but uncontrollable. It was a lovely location and it's a shame we didn't venture further afield than we did - but there was so much to see and talk about it didn't matter. Thx

Great fun
What a fun day despite covid restrictions. I think the group we were in and forager Sam made the experience what it was. It could have so easily fallen flat. I would definitely consider doing it again but not until things are more normal. Especially interested in a coastal event

Good in Parts
The foraging course itself was very good, interesting & informative. But for us, it was very much a beginning. We'd need to learn a lot more before we could forage confidently. As for the lunch, there wasn't any, apart from a side salad and wine we couldn't drink because we were driving. The tutor's assistant was away for the day, his cooker wasn't working, and the dessert had apparently been dropped. So we hung around in the cold for over an hour and then left hungry.

No lunch until after 2pm!
I was concerned that the weather forecast wasn't great. Fortunately it held off for most of the day so we were lucky. If it had been very bad weather it would have been miserable. The species that he pointed out were all common species and pretty easily identifiable. I was surprised that he didnt mention the risk of dog urine or herbicides and ate directly from likely spots for dogs. It was a shame his flask broke - we missed out on risotto. We had a nice time but would have whatever

We have managed to rearrange for the third time so fingers crossed it can actually go ahead. Navigating the website to rearrange has been a nightmare though.

Waste of time and money
I’d first like to say that our course leader Johanna was lovely, friendly and did her best. However, what was supposed to be a 6 hour foraging course with lunch turned out to be 30 mins of foraging for wild garlic and 1 or 2 herbs plus 2 mushrooms and several hours standing around in the muddy garden of a farm. Lunch involved Johanna chopping up the wild garlic and herbs in an old wooden shack whilst we stood around in the mud. Preprepared food and no drink. Total waste of money and a rip off!
