A Brilliant Day Out
Went to Chiddingstone Castle, Kent, with a voucher from my daughter and from the moment I arrived with a friend we had a lovely day out. Starting from the lady at the ticket office, who was so informative about the castle and surrounding area. The rooms were very airy and full of history and information. Our cream tea was delicious with warm scones, clotted cream and homemade jam. The grounds were vast with lots to see Including a lake to walk round. The village was 2mins away and very quaint.

Great Day Out
Chiddingstone Castle is on the boarders of Kent, Surrey, Sussex. Set in grounds that are being improved the Castle is of manageable proportions run by helpful volunteers. You can see everything in one visit, and it is worth going just for the Japanese displays. A gentle meander round the castle was completed with tasty sandwiches and a cream tea. Well worth a visit

Chiddingstone Castle
My son gave me a virgin experience voucher for a traditional cream tea at 1 of 2 Castles so I choose to go to Chiddingstone. The voucher covered entry for two into the castle, cream tea serve in lovely china cups and free rain of the beautiful 35 acres of picturesque scenery of the grounds. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely visit again so much left to see.

Chiddingstone -Afternoon tea for 2
A wonderful place to visit. Lots of outdoor space and interesting exhibits inside. From Japanese and Egyptian artifacts to Buddhist icons. Due to covid tea was served as a take away but there was plenty of undercover seating. And the grounds would provide and ideal picnic venue. The village of Chiddingstone is a National Trust village full of character. It was used as a location for the film A Room With A View and there is also the history of the chiding stone.

A great time
Chiddingstone Castle was different to what I expected. Not just full of rooms with old paintings, china and furniture but rooms on Japan and Egypt too which were very interesting. All staff we met, whether paid or voluntary, were helpful, happy and just let us wander at will. We added sandwiches to our cream tea and all was very fresh and delicious.

Best scones ever. Chiddingfold Castle
Was brought this as a present and it was lovely. The castle and grounds were perfect to stroll round and the collection inside of Egeption and other artifacts were interesting and enlightning. The scones were the softest ever and the National Trust village of Chiddingfold was so quaint. Thoroughly recommend a visit for a few pleasant hours.

A Christmas present from my daughter
My daughter gave me the castle and cream tea treat for Christmas. We don’t drive so took a cab to and from Hever station. Chiddingstone castle has a fascinating collection collected by an eccentric gentleman. We especially liked the collection of Japanese armour, swords and lacquerware and the collection relating to the Jacobites. We took about an hour to look around the castle. Then we had our delicious tea of scones, jam and cream. It was too cold to explore the extensive grounds.

Delightful Afternoon Tea
The hotel exudes old world charm . The staff were attentive without being fussy and provided good service . Although one of the items in the tea was unusual ( a quiche with a sweet pastry) the rest was delicious . My wife was unable to eat all her portion so I volunteered to finish it without hesitation . Afternoon tea consisted of 3 sandwiches ,the aforementioned quiche , fruit scones with the obligatory jam and cream , a fresh berry and cream tart and 3 small cakes each .
