Head behind the scenes at the Court Garden Vineyard and Winery and find out how this family-run, single-estate vineyard has been producing wine since 2005. Your guide will show you to the winery and explain how the wines are fermented and aged. All the wines made at Court Garden are produced using traditional grape varieties, grown on a beautiful South-facing slope in soil similar to that of north-east France - the region most commonly associated with Champagne. Discover how the maritime climate influences the kinds of grape that can be grown, and the flavours they produce.
To round things off, you‘ll sample the four sparkling wines. With a wine expert on hand to guide you, you’ll distinguish between the wines and get to know their subtle flavours – a perfect day out for any wine connoisseur.

What happens on the day?
The sparkling wine tour at Court Garden Vineyard & Winery is perfect for anyone wanting to get to know the full range of these award-winning English wines. You’ll begin your tour with a warm welcome from the guide - a knowledgeable wine expert - in the tasting room where you will be given a full introduction to the vineyard.
Then it’s on to the winery to discover how the sparkling wine fermentation process takes place. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and find out more, before you return to the tasting room to sample four sparkling wines. Your guide will help you to get the most out of the tasting and how to distinguish between the complex flavours of each. There is a shop at the vineyard should you wish to purchase any wine to take home with you.
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- Court Garden is a working vineyard and winery meaning some ground may be uneven and the winery floor may be wet, making this experience unsuitable for those with mobility issues
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
This experience is available on selected Saturdays throughout the year.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 2 hours for the whole experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Wonderful Morning Out
We were given this as a gift last Christmas and were only just able to find time to go to the Court Garden Vineyard Wine Tasting Tour - it was fantastic. Hugo and his father were both highly knowledgeable and interactive, and the wine was delicious. Both guides were very personable and came to sit and chat with us after the tour. Would definitely do again.

A great vineyard tour and tasting
A great, friendly tour. We ended up being the only people on ours, taken round by the owner of Court Garden, so we found out lots about the process to making the wine and the background to his vineyard.

Great morning
What a great time we had at Court Garden Vineyard. The hosts were knowledgeable and very entertaining. We were in s group of 16 and that was enough to be able to walk around the vineyards and listen to Hugo talking about the process. I would highly recommend this tour.

Court Garden Wine Tour
We were lucky with the weather. If it had been wet, it would not have been excellent. However, the whole visit was worthwhile, the best bits being the tour of the vineyard outside and the wine tasting at the end. Finding the place was not easy as could be confused for Orchard Lane in Hassocks, especially in a car satnav.

Lovely day out!
We really enjoyed our day out. We haven't tasted English sparkling wines before and were pleasantly surprised. We also learned a lot about the wine making process as we toured the vineyard.

Court Garden, Ditchling
Received the 'experience' for my birthday. A grey miserable day BUT perfect for walking around the vineyard, looking around the cellar and hearing how the wine is made. A very genial host, who has clearly found his calling in life - wine was excellent and from a personal point of view, knocks the French stuff of its perch!

Excellent experience
Both Hugo and Howard were extremely knowledgable and didn't over complicate things! They were very accommodating to all the guests, and waited for everyone to catch up when walking and offered chairs to those who couldn't stand for long. The wine was also very delicious.

Excellent tour
We had a great time on this tour. The guides were very knowledgeable, extremely polite and totally committed to the vineyard's heritage. At the end, we had a generous tasting experience - most enjoyable. Having completed several vineyard tours, I have no hesitation recommending this one.

Growers with passion
If enthusiasm makes great wine this explains a lot. The weather was great and both father and son talked us through the process from vine to wine in simple terms that made the tour a success. Then came the tasting, no half measures but full glasses and any questions you asked were fully answered. One word of warning, make sure you have a nominated driver as after 4 glasses you will be over the limit. A great day out !

A taste of English sparkling wine!
An excellent introduction to the growing English wine industry, with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable owner as our guide. The winery is a small, family run business and the passion they have feeds through to the tours. A very thorough tour and excellent tasting with very good sample sizes (better to get a cab than drive!).

Grape Expectations!
Winding down a country lane in deepest, darkest East Sussex, I had no idea what awaited us, apart from knowing we would be wine tasting. But it so so much more than that! The Court Garden vineyard, a family run winery, was just a joy to visit. I've learnt so much about how to achieve a near perfect bottle of sparkling wine, from Hugo (who's very witty!) and his very charming father, that I've been impressing my friends with my new found knowledge ever since! The wine is delicious, the atmosphere friendly, the tour informative and four near full glasses at the end, happy days. Well worth a visit.

Wine tasting
Overall very pleasant and informative experience. Pretty weather dependent, we were lucky. Would have preferred to sit outside for the tasting, the room we were in felt cluttered and untidy. We would have liked more info on how to taste the wine. The owners are very friendly and make it quite amusing.

A lovely tour
The vineyard is easy to find close to Ditchling, which is an attractice village and we saw the museum there. On arrival at for the tour we were warmly met. The tour of the vines and winery were very informative, and there was an opportunity to ask questions. The tastings were good too, in an attractive tasting room. We even purchase a bottle to take home. I'd recommend this as a good afternoon out.
