With this vineyard tour and tasting, in East Sussex, the two of you will gain a fascinating insight into the world of English wine production.
Learn about the history of winemaking as an experienced guide shows you around the 37 acres of vineyards, hear how the vines are trained to grow and discover the differences between our vineyards and those in other countries. You’ll visit the bottling plant and will then be shown to the tasting room to sample some of the award winning creations on offer. Should you find a new favourite, don’t forget to stop by the shop to make a purchase, after what is sure to be an enlightening experience for the both of you.

This was an excellent afternoon. We like wine but had no idea about what goes into its production. The host was first class; he explained everything very clearly, then we tried a taste of what we had seen growing. A cream tea topped off the day and made it perfect.

What happens on the day?
After registering at the vineyard the two of you will be introduced to your tour guide and your experience shall begin. You and the tour group will be shown to the 37 acre vineyard for an overview of English wine production, where you will hear about the different wine varieties grown and learn how the vineyard may encounter problems such as weather and disease.
A visit the winery and bottling plant will enable you both to discover the secrets of the winemaking process from the arrival of the grapes, to the bottling of the finished wine. You will then be welcomed into the tasting room where several of the award winning wines can be appreciated and any additional questions you may have can be answered. Before you leave don’t forget to visit the shop for the opportunity to purchase some wine to take away with you.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- There is some slightly uneven ground in the vineyard, occasional steps and one flight of stairs to the tasting room
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
This experience is available on most weekends and selected weekdays throughout the year. Please contact the supplier at the time of booking for updated availability.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. For the summer months, you should book at least two to three months in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow up to 2 hours for the whole experience, the tour will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Guests are asked to arrive 20 minutes before the start of the tour to register.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
