What happens on the day?
On arrival at L’Ortolan you and your guest will be warmly welcomed by the friendly front of house team and shown to your table in the main dining room. Here you’ll be served with a luxurious seven courses from the signature tasting menu.
Enjoy an exciting variety of flavours and textures with this gourmet sample of the very best this Michelin-starred restaurant has to offer. A delicious experience for lovers of fine food and quality ingredients.

Availability
This experience is available on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes and Wednesday and Thursday evenings, January to November.
We recommend you book at least eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 2 to 3 hours for your meal.
You will be seated half an hour after the reservation time to enable you to choose from the menu beforehand and enjoy a drink in the bar if you wish (drinks are not included)
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Delicious food

The best meal ….. ever
What a glorious meal - the food, the service and the ambience were all perfect - I’d highly recommend the tasting menu each course was a small explosion of flavour and its content and origins beautifully explained by the waiter - wonderful evening

Classic Michelin dining
Portions were small but with seven courses, amuse bouche and petits fours, they were just right. The wine pairing was exceptionally good and well worth paying for.

Fantastic lunch
Thoroughly deserves five stars. The meal and service was wonderful. You need to factor in service and they add 12.5% service to your bill (including the 'free' meal value), so you should budget £90 for a glass of champagne, glass of wine, water and coffee each.

Fantastic evening of food and wine
Recently took my wife to L'Ortolan for a birthday dinner. Lovely atmosphere with courteous and knowledgeable staff and sommelier. A most enjoyable evening.

Lovely evening with good food
Was lucky enough to receive the voucher as a gift. On arrival the drinks in the bar were lovely. Really pleasant staff and great cocktails. 7 course taster menu was excellent and again, staff really helpful and polite.

Just lovely food
Everything we tasted at L’Ortolan was divine. The service was also impeccable. We did the wine pairing which was a revelation and have had our minds changed forever regarding chardonnay. The only criticism we would give is that the decor is very tired and in need of a few coats of paint and a little soft music would improve the ambience. Otherwise utterly splendid.

Amazing quality and utterly delicious
L'Ortolan is a beautiful environment staffed by top class French personnel, all of whom were very pleasant. Careful explanations of each plate as it was served and non hurried service made this an extremely enjoyable experience. As you would expect, prices are high but of the highest quality and the food was definitely worth it.

Great experience
Received a voucher for this 7 course "Gourmand" taster menu as a birthday gift. We were made to feel very welcome even though we were dining on a voucher. The food as exceptional, intense flavours and very creative. Service was also excellent and attentive without being intrusive and the waiters were very knowledgeable about each dish served. We would definitely return and highly recommend this experience.

Food heaven
Very much enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Service was excellent and the staff very friendly (although at times found it hard to hear/understand the description of the courses put in front of us). Diners need to be aware that the service charge is still applicable on the meals even though a gift voucher is being used.

Wonderful restaurant
Fantastic ambience and staff, remarkable food. Well worth a visit. But, a point to note: a 12.5% gratuity is expected on the whole amount including the value of the gift experience, so the recipients of the gift need to pay £20 extra, plus expensive drinks, etc. However, it was excellent overall.

Great restaurant.... but
Great tasting menu but we were charged for service on the gift voucher that was supposedly all paid for. This means it’s impossible to give the experience without the recipient being obliged to pay extra. Of course you can take off the service at the table but that makes for an uncomfortable conversation at what is supposed to be a special event. I won’t give a voucher now as a result to anyone else.

Present
Not the wow factor I was expecting. Staff poor English as the dishes need to be explained. Having been to the Cliff hotel in Ireland also a Michelin star restaurant so have seen how the enthusiastic staff explain the hard work put in by the chefs. Also the chef there visited every table to ask how they thought the experience was. This place feels dull and dated. A shame as I lived nearby and have always been intrigued to find out what it would like to go there. Left feeling disappointed.
