Drive through the honeyed-stone gateposts to the glorious Belmond Le Manoir hotel and you’re stepping into Raymond Blanc’s world of phenomenal cooking we’ve all enjoyed on television. A Half Day Course at Raymond Blanc’s Cookery School is the perfect way to seriously lift your culinary expertise up a notch or two in truly superb surroundings. Quite simply, this is foodie heaven!
The intensive 3 hour course designed by Head Tutor Mark Peregrine, a talented chef of over 30 years’ experience with a passion for passing on his skills to students. Under his expert guidance or under the tutelage of one of his team, you’ll create a three-course meal using fantastic fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Courses are suitable for all levels, so whether you’re a seasoned cook or a complete novice, you will find this a really worthwhile experience. You will receive light refreshments of tea and coffee either in the morning or afternoon, depending on which class you take.

What happens on the day?
You will need to arrive at the beautiful Belmond Le Manoir by 09.15 for a 09.30 start, if you have chosen a morning class, or 13.45 for a 14.00 start, if you are taking part in an afternoon class. You will also receive light refreshments of tea and coffee.
You will be taught by an experienced and talented chef during your 3 hour course. Throughout the course you will gain knowledge and skills that you can take back to your own kitchen to impress your friends and family.

Availability
This experience is available on selected dates Monday to Friday throughout the year.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 3 hours 30 minutes for the whole experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A fantastic experience
I can honestly say that was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve ever done. Great value for money too ... it was the perfect combination of demonstration and practical cookery. Mark Peregrine who lead the course was a true professional and full of knowledge.. I would definitely book again!

A soup-er day
We absolutely loved our half day cookery course! We learned how to cook a gorgeous four course meal (including soup!) with seasonal produce, much of which they grow in their own garden (which we enjoyed walking round after). The tutor was friendly and knowledgeable, and we left feeling very full and satisfied, and with loads of professional tips and tricks on how to prepare meals in advance and how to maximise the flavours of simple ingredients to deliver a powerful punch. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic day
I received a voucher for a half day course but paid the extra amount directly to the cookery school in order to be able to be able to follow the course on fish and seafood. The whole day was instructive but also a lot of fun, with 8 other very nice participants. All the staff at Le Manoir were very helpful and friendly, from the time I initially phoned them up and all through the day spent there. I will definitely be doing further courses there and would highly recommend this experience.

The best day
I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, and we had the best day! The hotel is beautiful and we spent some time wandering around the gardens ahead of the cookery course. When we arrived we were greeted with teas, coffees, juices, and incredible biscuits. The chef came and introduced himself, laying out the day ahead. He was funny and knowledgable, and really made the day. We did three courses and came away with loads of new knowledge. Really loved it!

Excellent day
I chose to go early to Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons so that I could spend some time in the gardens. They are extensive and well worth the time. Our 3 hour cooking experience run by Mark started with coffee and cake. He took us through 2 courses explaining tips as he went and then took us through the course that we would cook. We tried all the food prepared and of course the one we cooked too. A great afternoon - we’ll worth it!

Best cooking day ever
The course tutor was excellent. Very happy, very professional and knew her subject matter impeccably. I learnt so much from her and recreated dishes that tasted fabulous. I will be booking another course for sure.

A day in the cooking school of Raymond Blanc
I have done cooker courses in Padstow, Cambridge, Priano (Italy) and Trincomali (Sri Lanka). This was by far the best by a long way. A really good day

Fantastic experience!
What a fantastic experience, to cook in a professional kitchen with Raymond Blanc's head cookery school, teaching you. The setting is unbelievable with amazing gardens and sculptures to wander round. The cookery school is brilliant and the knowledge of the staff is second to none, I could not recommend this experience highly enough and hope one day to dine in the restaurant to sample the amazing food from the other side of service.

Amazing
I didn’t know what to expect from the afternoon as I thought the information was a little vague but all I can say it went far beyond my expectations. Our Tutor was engaging, informative and fun and the meal that she and we created was great and we got to eat it as well which was even better. Do make time to explore the gardens as they are wonderful.

Wonderful afternoon
Attending the cookery school was a Christmas present from my wife. What a successful present! From the moment of arrival to the last second of looking at the gardens it was a luxurious visit. Becky, the tutor, was charming,funny and knowledgeable. As an untrained “home cook”, I learnt many tricks and techniques, much more than I expected. I will be back, for another similar course or maybe longer, if my wife‘s budget allows the next present!

Fabulous

Great day
Hope was our teacher for the day. She made us feel welcome and was a great down to earth person. She taught us loads of tips along the way too which made things so much more simple than I had imagined. The staff were all perfect at the hotel too.

Really enjoyable, relaxed and informative
Le Manoir is a lovely setting and we were greeted and offered refreshments while we waited to go through to the demo kitchen. Hope was our course tutor who was enthusiastic (ably assisted by Mikey) and she passed on all sorts of really useful tips and we tasted a variety of different dishes. We also cooked a simple dish under her supervision which we ate, washed down by a glass of champagne. Many thanks to Hope and her team for a very enjoyable, tasty and informative afternoon.

An incredible experience!!
Such a fantastic afternoon! Le Manoir is an iconic location in itself, and even though you’re not dining there, you are welcomed no differently. The staff are immaculately presented, highly skilled, and love sharing their love of food and La Manoir too. It’s an experience to remember, cooking with the freshest ingredients, tasting the most beautiful dishes, but understanding how straight forward it is to replicate this in your own home. I can not recommend highly enough

A Wonderful Experience
A great half day for food lovers, whether you can cook or not. Everyone from reception to the cookery school team were friendly and welcoming. Three dishes were demonstrated and then we had to do one on our own. We had tasters all morning, all delicious. We learnt so many hints and tips and they came so quickly that it was hard to take notes at times. I am using all I have learnt at home. Thank you to everyone at Le Manor.

Great course, loads of really good stuff. Tutor Hope was just brilliant. She was clearly awash with shed loads of knowledge that was imparted with the upmost level of skill and professionalism. A great day out which will be repeated.

A great experience
I had a fantastic time at the La Manoir on the half day course. The tutor imparted great experience, knowledge and tips. My only criticism would be that it is not very hands on and you do not get to keep the apron, but still a great experience.

Incredible day
I received the half-day cooking course from my parents for Christmas and had an incredible time. I picked up so many useful tips and tricks that I now use daily when cooking! Our teacher was incredibly friendly and answered every single question thrown at her with a fantastic level of knowledge. I will certainly be coming back!

Taste, taste, taste
A most enjoyable afternoon. Demonstrations most helpful and great having a try at replicating one of the dishes. All most informative and encouraging. Every detail thought of and just the right number of the people in the kitchen on the course. Learnt lots and it all seems achievable....with practice of course. My new mantra is taste, taste, taste, ......I will be doing so often as I cook in the future. And tasting the experts cooking was a great sharing experience.
