Lovely Stay
Very impressed with the hotel - all aspects from cleanliness to food were top notch. We were in a lovely 4 poster bed at the front of the hotel and traffic noise may be an issue for some. We had a delightful stay.

Best birthday prezzie........thanks girls xx
Beautiful hotel in the peaceful town of Ripley, ideally located for London and surrounding areas without all the hustle and bustle of the city. Where all the staff are warm and welcoming and the restaurant offers and excellent menu to suit every taste and budget, during our stay we were lucky enough to enjoy the live entertainment being held in the beautiful beer garden at the rear of the hotel. Never used a Virgin Voucher before but its been so easy and hassle free, can highly recommend :-)))

Enjoyable stay but lacks polish
The hotel room was clean and acceptably furnished, but by no means ‚stylish‘ as advertised. The mattress was very soft, which lead a sore back in the morning. A decent breakfast was available, and the waiting staff were friendly. We had drinks and a late lunch in the bar, which has a nice atmosphere. The sandwich and chips were tasty. The staff were very attentive to Covid19 safety measures!

A lovely break
A very beautiful hotel, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great location and has good day outings in the surrounding areas. The room was small but very comfortable. Only reason why I gave 4* is the cleanliness of the room.

Charming village hotel
This was a great little country hotel in a small village in Surrey. The staff were 5 star as they did everything they could to make our stay great. The man on reception was very friendly and helpful and the man in the breakfast serving room was very understanding when we missed the breakfast time. We had a lovely relaxing few days there. The only downside was the early breakfast finishing time of 9am and the house keeping at 9.30am.

Characterful hotel, pleasant experience
Greeted by a wacky but friendly receptionist who was happy to help, albeit, a bit unprofessional. Very low ceilings and beams gave even my 5’10’’ partner problems. Traditional and cosy decor with an extremely comfy bed. Downside to the room was the lack of shower. Downstairs there is a lovely bar and restaurant as well as a large car park. All in all, a 3.5 experience! Would recommend.

Relaxing 2 night stay
I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Talbot Inn in Ripley, Surrey. After booking I checked out the Inn on the trip advisor websites only to find some disappointing comments and ratings. This made me wonder if I had made the right choice of hotel, but on arrival I was pleasantly surprised. I think some of the hotel has recently been refurbished and everything about my stay was very enjoyable. If you are looking for something to do while there, RHS Wisley is only a 5 minute drive.

Has great potential but........
The old beams and cosy nooks of The Talbot were lovely. Staff were friendly and food and drink was nice. However, our TV didn’t work and I kept banging my head on the very low ceiling. We moved to a different room for the 2nd night which was nice with dark panelling & four poster. However, the towel rail didn’t work, curtains & shower screen seal were dirty and everything was dusty, particularly near the radiator. A lot of promise and with TLC, it could be lovely but we won’t be back.

a good break
Staff, overall very good and customer focused. Breakfast very good and pleasant. Meals consumed on premises average too good. Unfortunately our bathroom had a terrible smell, and on second morning the sink drain blocked causing the sink to remain full. This problem was exasperated by having no hot water, at least the unseasonal weather made a cold shower almost bearable. Throughout reception did note the faults but offer no solution.

2 Day Break
Hotel was nice and staff always polite and helpful. However breakfast time had to ask for cereal bowls / no butter and only got a cup of tea - not a pot. Scrambled egg very runny 1st morning, 2nd morning slightly better. Overall nice but did not give me the wow factor. Would recommend to others perhaps we were just unlucky.

Ok glad i never chose it
Was given a ground floor room at the rear of the hotel next to a guy with yapping dogs! toilet stench every time you flushed, room no better than a premier inn or Travel lodge, hard to see how given 4 stars? having said, breakfast great and staff very polite and helpful, shame about the room! Friday had a function which left us with no parking in the hotel, had to park approx a quarter of a mile away!!

Not the best
Lovely hotel, you can feel the history of it. But the walls are paper thin. You could hear everyone from 8am. Staff were very friendly. The room was awful. Needed revamping. The shower was even cellotaped on! The window didn’t close, nor did the wardrobes. We left a day early because of it. Wouldn’t personally stay again.
